Dermaplaning or Microdermabrasion?

I am frequently asked this question,"Which treatment is right for me, microdermabrasion or dermaplaning?"

They are both forms of physical exfoliation, but the methods are very different. Dermaplaning safely scrapes off the top layer of skin and removes the vellus hair(peach fuzz), so it is recommended for anyone with peach fuzz and drier skin. This treatment is also recommended for those who have rosacea or sensitive skin. Microdermabrasion sands and suctions dead skin cells, which also helps to uproot clogged pores around the nose, mouth and chin. If you have active acne I wouldn't recommend either treatments, as it could result in the spread of bacteria or be too irritating. If you just have a blemish or two the technician can work around those with either treatment.

If a client wants a deeper exfoliation incorporating both treatments can be an option as well. I find it typically comes to personal preference, but both methods are beneficial for almost anyone.
