Whiteheads

What Are Whiteheads?

Whiteheads are small white bumps on the skin that are caused by sebum and dead skin cells that clog pores. They are white in color because they are not exposed to air (like blackheads) and a layer of skin is covering the pore instead. Luckily, they are a mild form of acne.

Who is prone to whiteheads?

Hereditary factors can be linked to whiteheads. Those going through puberty and those dealing with stress and hormonal changes are also susceptible to whiteheads.

Is it treatable?

Well, how do I get rid of them? Regular facials can be beneficial in treating acne, including whiteheads. Professionals can clean the skin deeper than we normally can with just our hands by steaming the face to rid the debris and stress that has been built up under the skin, extracting dirt, and moisturizing. It is a wonderful way to detoxify the skin. There are many home remedies that can be used at home to banish whiteheads, though everyone has skin that reacts differently. Like blackheads, it is a great idea to try salicylic acid because it can help to loosen dirt and pull it towards the surface. It is recommended to always take makeup off before going to bed, refrain from picking the skin or touching the face too much, exfoliate often, and refrain from scrubbing too aggressively when cleansing. Last but not least, visit a dermatologist for the best options.
